WARRANTY COVERAGE

Modern Gesture products are backed by a 24-month warranty, guaranteeing against defects in craftsmanship and materials. This warranty includes the options for repair or replacement of our handcrafted mirrors, lighting, and home decor items, underscoring our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

To submit a warranty claim, please return the product to Modern Gesture for inspection. The cost of return and potential re-delivery will be the customer’s responsibility. We will diligently assess the product to determine the appropriate course of action – repair or replacement.

Please ensure the product you are returning is securely packaged in suitable materials to prevent damage during transit. Couriers reserve the right to refuse collection if the item is not properly prepared for transport. Please note that we will not be liable for any additional damage incurred during transit due to insufficient packaging.

EXCLUSIONS

Our warranty does not cover damages resulting from misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or modifications, electrical surges, use of products outdoors (unless specified), sea air corrosion or failure to adequately care for the product. Attempts to self-repair or the use of non-approved parts will void the warranty. It also does not cover instances where the specification of the product, although accurately described on the website and fit for its intended purpose, does not meet your preferences or requirements.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS OF ITEMS UNDER WARRANTY

Returns must be pre-approved by Modern Gesture. Given the artistic nature of our work, variations in material colour and texture are expected and celebrated as part of the design. Refunds, if applicable, will be issued based on the condition of the returned item, minus applicable handling fees. In assessing returns, we may consult with industry experts, with any costs for customer-sourced evaluators borne by the customer. If no fault is found, or if the damage is determined to have resulted from customer misuse or handling, a handling fee will be applied.

DISCRETION ON RESOLUTIONS

Modern Gesture reserves the right to decide whether a returned product warrants repair, replacement, or refund. If a returned item is found to be without fault or damaged through customer actions, a reasonable inspection fee may be charged.

This warranty reflects our dedication to delivering exceptional, artful pieces for your space, crafted with care and designed to last.

GENERAL RETURN POLICY

For complete satisfaction, you can exchange any purchase or opt for store credit (excluding shipping costs) within 14 days of receipt, should it not meet your expectations.

Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging, accompanied by a copy of the original receipt. Please note, that return shipping is the responsibility of the customer and must be sent securely. Any costs incurred for shipping exchanges will also be borne by the customer. This ensures the process aligns seamlessly with our dedication to customer satisfaction and product integrity.

SHIPPING TERMS AND RESPONSIBILITY

Modern Gesture products are supplied Ex Works, meaning the purchaser is responsible for pickup and transportation from our facility. We ensure all items are expertly packaged for their protection, but once they leave our premises, the care and safekeeping of the goods transition to the purchaser’s responsibility, aligning with your logistic preferences and safeguarding your investment during transit.

CARE & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL CARE

Products made from natural materials may display unique colour and surface variations. To protect the integrity of these materials, avoid harsh or chemical cleaning products, including solvents such as nail polish remover or turpentine, as well as abrasive materials like scouring pads. Do not use degreaser, acids, alcohols, fabric softeners, oil treatments, or detergents containing ammonia or bleach.

To preserve the integrity and colour of the materials, limit exposure to direct sunlight. Do not place products near heat sources, and always protect surfaces from direct heat, humidity, and contact with strongly coloured items, as this can cause the products to distort, discolour or get damaged. Unless explicitly designed for outdoor use, all items are intended for indoor use only.

For cleaning, lightly dampen a soft cloth with a lukewarm water (or a mild detergent where necessary) and gently wipe the surface of your light, mirror, or décor item. This will remove dust while maintaining the beauty of the weaving and wood components.

POWDER-COATED SURFACES & BRASS FITTINGS

Powder coating is a durable finish, however it may chip if dropped or knocked, and can be scratched by sharp or abrasive objects. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals, as these may damage the surface.

To clean, lightly wipe with a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm water, then dry immediately.

Brass fittings may develop a natural patina over time.

To restore their shine, polish gently with a soft cloth and a suitable brass cleaner such as Brasso.

BIRCH WOOD

Wood is a natural material, and each piece will have its own unique variations in tone and grain. Over time, the structure and colour may subtly change as the material responds to its environment – a characteristic that adds to its natural beauty.

CORD

The woven cord is made from polyester, offering durability and resilience.

To clean, lightly dampen a soft cloth with water and a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid, then gently wipe the surface.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Quotations valid for 7 days from date of quote.
  2. Use the invoice number as the payment reference. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice.
  3. Production of your order will commence on receipt of your order plus payment of the applicable deposit. For custom orders, a deposit of seventy percent (70%) is due in advance. For all other orders, a deposit of fifty percent (50%) is due in advance.
  4. Any claims for damage or quantity discrepancies must be submitted in writing within 5 working days of receipt of goods to be recognized and addressed.
  5. Custom design items are subject to minimum order quantities and will incur a surcharge of 20–40%, depending on the scope and requirements of the project.
  6. Expedited or rush orders may incur an additional charge.
  7. If the client cancels an order after transferring the deposit, it will be in sole discretion of the manufacturer to agree to a refund. Further, the manufacturer reserves the right to deduct from the deposit any cost associated with processing the order in calculating a refund amount.
  8. Lead time 4-6 weeks. Once an order is completed and ready for collection or dispatch, the customer will be notified accordingly. Any orders remaining in our warehouse for longer than 7 days after notification will incur a storage fee.
  9. We will ensure the orders are packed securely and received by FedEx or any other courier service in good order. Standard packaging will be provided in accordance with the provider’s specifications. Any special packaging requirements or requests for specialised transport will incur additional charges. Thereafter should anything happen to the order in transit, the responsibility does not lie with Modern Gesture Designs.
  10. We reserve all copyright and other rights in all of our images and product designs, inclusive of custom designs. Any infringement of our intellectual property rights will result in legal action which may include a claim for damages and costs.
  11. Any product that has not paid for in full, as per the invoice, shall remain the property of the provider until full and final payment has been received.
  12. The provider is not responsible for any installation at the premises of the customer. A qualified electrician must be used for the installation of all lighting products.
  13. The customer indemnifies the provider against any and all claims, including but not limited to latent defects, damages, penalties, costs, charges, and expenses that the customer may incur arising from the purchase or use of the product.
  14. Modern Gesture reserves the right to amend, update, vary, or cancel these Terms and Conditions at any time. It is the customer’s responsibility to review the latest version online.
